The Istanbul districts we know, explained for owners

Our office is in Bahçelievler, and most of the flats we let, sell and manage are on this stretch of the European side. Each guide below sets out the district's official facts, its housing, its transport and what owning a flat there from abroad involves, with the sources listed.

Bahçelievler

Our home district: 539,035 people, the M1A and M9 metro lines, 1990s apartment blocks being replaced building by building, and the courthouse annex that hears rent cases.

Bakırköy and Ataköy

Coast, Marmaray and the M3 metro: 218,204 people, the planned Ataköy estate begun in 1957, Yeşilköy and Florya, and the courthouse that hears rent cases for six districts.

Zeytinburnu

From tanneries to towers: 275,471 people just outside the historic land walls, five T1 tram stops, two Marmaray stations, and new coastal and Topkapı developments.

Other districts we work in

We also let, sell and value flats in Başakşehir (owner guides for Mall of İstanbul High Residence and Mostar Mahal), Bağcılar and Eyüpsultan (Rams City Haliç). On the Asian side our work began at Exen İstanbul in Ümraniye and now covers Kadıköy, Ataşehir, Maltepe and Kartal. Each of these gets its own guide once we can write one from our own work there, not from a desk.
